London Underground

London Underground has been an integral part of London’s history for 150 years. With 1.34 billion passengers a year and 402km, and counting, of network to maintain London Underground is constantly looking for ways to improve the service. In 2003, it became a subsidiary of Transport for London. For the past decade it has been implementing a comprehensive Tube Improvement Plan. Involving refurbishing hundreds of stations, upgrading lines to provide faster, more frequent and more reliable services, installing step free access at many locations, and entirely rebuilding some central London stations.

The Brief

Our first job with LU was to create a promotional video for their Station Works and Improvement Programme in 2014. We were asked back to create a short animation which needed to highlight the efficient processes and practises used within London Underground’s Station Works and Improvements Programme. 

The Solution

Once the script was finely tuned by us and the client, we began the process of animating segments which accentuated the words and reinforced the messages the client wished to convey. The film was very well received at its first conference and is currently being used for obtaining new contracts for SWIP within TFL and beyond.
